UC Davis Fall Open 2010
Tournament Rules and Regulations
Dates: Saturday, October 30th (Singles and Mixed Doubles)
Sunday, October 31st (Doubles)
Location: Activities and Recreation Center Recreation Hall (Pavilion) at the University of California, Davis
Events: Flights A, B, C, D: Men's and Women's Singles, Doubles, and Mixed.
Entries: $20 for first event,
$15 for each additional event; please contact us for information regarding group discounts.
Times: Warm-up starts at 8am. Games will begin at 9am.
T-Shirts: Newly designed t-shirts will be sold at the tournament for $12. Pre-order a shirt for $10! (No refund for pre-ordered shirts.)
Prizes: A M/W Singles 1st -
$100; A M/W Singles 2nd -
$50
A M/W Doubles/Mixed 1st -
$200 per team; A M/W Doubles/Mixed 2nd -
$100 per team
Trophies will be awarded to First and Second place in B,C,D flights and Consolation in all flights.
Please note that the cash prizes will be awarded if there are
at least 8 teams in the events. If there are less than 8 teams then the cash prize amount will be determined by the tournament directors.
If there is a large number of A entries, there will be an increase in cash prizes.
Entry Rules:
(1) Rally scoring format for all events, 3x21.
ALL CONSOLATION matches are one set to 21. Consolation semi-finals and beyond are formatted 3x21. Scoring sheets will be provided.
(2) When the leading score reaches 11 points, players have a 1 minute interval. There will be a 2 minute interval between each set. In the third set, players may choose to change ends when the leading score reaches 11 points.
Coaching is allowed during intervals only.
(3) Players will be allowed to play a maximum of 3 flights on Saturday and 2 flights on Sunday. 2 max flights per event.
(4) Teams must play in the flight of the higher ranked player. Multiple partners are
NOT allowed.
(5) A strict five minute default rule will be enforced. Players who are defaulted will be disqualified from the tournament for the event they defaulted from.
(6) Participants will not be allowed to start their first match until
all fees are paid.
(7) All participants will need to sign a waiver before playing. Waivers will be available on our website and on tournament days at the registration desk. (Participants under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature.)
